Battlefields Country Lodge is situated in Dundee and lies in the heartbeat of the battlefields in northern KwaZulu Natal. Explore Boer, Brit and Zulu battle sites at Isandlwana, Rorke's Drift, Blood River, Ncome and Talana museums.

Battlefields Country Lodge is nestled in green valleys overlooking rolling hills, dams and the famous Talana hill which is the site of the first battle between the Boers and the British soldiers.

ACCOMMODATION

Battlefields Country Lodge boasts a selection of units ranging from unique, silo-styled units to luxury, self-catering suites set in beautiful lush gardens with swimming pool and overlooking dams, mountains, horses, some game and stunning bird life. All rooms are serviced daily by our friendly, Zulu housekeeping staff.

All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, mostly with showers, some with baths, all are fully equipped with tea / coffee facilities, satellite television, heaters / fans.

BREAKFAST AND DINING

Share and enjoy a quiet, relaxed sun-downer in our fully licensed “Lapa Ukhamba” watering hole, a round bar built under thatch with canvas sides which are rolled up in summer and closed in winter. This has been extended into a 70-seater dining room ‘Warriors’ Arms’. A cosy fire in winter creates a wonderful, warm experience.

An excellent 3-course Country-style buffet is served in the Warrior’s Arms. Dinners can be changed on request to experience a South African Braai, Potjie, etc.

BATTLEFIELD TOURS

Guided tours can be booked with highly recommended, top tour guides to all Boer, British and Zulu battle sites in our northern KwaZulu Natal area.
