ABOUT TENAHEAD MOUNTAIN LODGE
In a remote region of South Africa where three mountain ranges meet - the Drakensberg, the Witteberg and the Maluti - lies a very special place. Tenahead is 3500 hectares of unspoiled mountains, valleys and streams. It holds a treasury of flora and fauna and it is the perfect place to experience another life.
A Nature-lover’s Eden, Tenahead is home to many antelope and smaller animals including lynx, jackals, rock rabbits, amphibians, reptiles and over 300 species of birds. The hills and valleys are a comucopia of wild flowers and at night, the skies are spangled with millions of stars. Tenahead winters are crisp with snow blanketing the ground; the summers are fresh with possible thunderstorms. Tenahead will reawaken a spirit inside you long made dormant by modern living.
ACCOMMODATION
This spectacular 5 star lodge has grand, en-suite bedrooms with open fireplaces, which are lit throughout the snowy winter. Each is beautifully furnished for comfort and luxury. Large double glazed windows grace a single wall of each bedroom, framing panoramic views of the awesome mountains and valleys.
The bedrooms all have a stocked bar fridge, tea ad coffee facilities, satellite television and satellite phone. The bathrooms are fitted with both shower and bath and amenities for that personal touch.
FACILITIES
All the spacious living areas of the lodge are warmed by open fireplaces and been stylishly decorated. The Lodge has three lounges, a breakfast room, main dining room and library. The library houses approximately 2000 books that have been carefully hand selected on subjects regarding the history of South Africa, travel and wildlife.
There are two wooden decks where lunches and sundowners can be enjoyed, weather permitting. Tenahead has a wine cellar, which is stocked with some of South Africa’s finest wines.
